Who we are

Plate Decoder is operated by Rego Notes, a business based in Australia. Contact: support@platedecoder.com.

What we collect

• Your email address and the state you chose, if you join the waitlist.
• Usage data, such as the pages you visit and the state you search, through Google Analytics once it is enabled. The plate numbers you type are not sent to us while lookups are in preview.

There are no accounts on this site, and we do not ask for your name or address.

Why we use it

• To send you one email when live lookups open, if you asked for it.
• To understand which states and pages people use, so we know what to build next.

Who it is shared with

• Google Cloud, which hosts the site and stores the waitlist.
• Google Analytics, for usage statistics.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

How long we keep it

Waitlist emails are kept until we have sent the launch email, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first.

Your rights, including California residents

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and opt out of any sale or sharing of it (we do neither). Under the California Consumer Privacy Act you also have the right not to be discriminated against for using these rights. Email support@platedecoder.com and we will respond within the time the law requires.

Vehicle information

A VIN and a vehicle’s specifications describe a vehicle, not a person. The Service does not return the name, address or any other detail of a vehicle’s owner.
